UTM Home Hostname

I am setting up a UTM at home, when I give it a hostname does it need to be resolvable across the internet?

  • You can also override local hostname for SMTP HELO/EHLO and banner needs in SMTP Advanced section.

You still need to set the hostname to something internet resolvable as the MX record has to point to the utm or e-mail doesn't work well.

I think that only public IP is required, MX record is defined in external DNS and can be different than UTM local hostname.
