UTM Home Hostname

I am setting up a UTM at home, when I give it a hostname does it need to be resolvable across the internet?

  • it depends.  I set my hostnames to local domain names and use the hostname override in the remote access section if needed.  This configuration is for if i am not configuring the machine for e-mail proxying.  if you are using the e-mail proxy then yes i set the hostname to an internet resolovable fqdn.  It depends on your network setup.
