Missconfigured UTM > How to find the error

Hi there,

at our branachoffice's SG125 i configured via Webadmin some networkdefinitions and user and propably deleted a vpn certificate, but i'm not sure about it, after some confusion yesterday. But after a while i noticed, that the SG125 was unreachable from our HQ. I drove to that branchoffice and tried to connect directly via LAN to that box. But with no success, also directly to LAN-Nic connected.

  • No PING to box possible
  • No WAN / LAN connection
  • No Webadmin access
  • Unusual LED blinking (eth0 / eth1)*

* For example: Both LED for eth0 were normally acting and then they went off for ~ 10 sec. After that they turned on again and the eth1 LEDs starts with that magic failure after a while.
Only these interfaces are configured and connected.

I accessed the box via Serial-Cable and saw with a ifconfig, that the eth0 interface had the right settings.

So my question to you is:
Which logs i can view, to get an idea, what happend yesterday while i was configuring?
What does it mean, when the LEDs act like that?

I solved the problem, through a config restore via cli.
But i need the reason for that happening. [8-)]

PS: Attached, you see the changelog from webadmin. But there is nothing special, i find.

Thank you.

Christian

  • Good luck, Christian - with luck, it was just a temporary glitch.  Someone would need to have a closer look at your logs to figure out what caused the problem.

    Cheers - Bob
