Migrating from 525 rev.4 to rev.5 hardware

Hi All,

I was lucky enough to recently take delivery of a new Sophos branded UTM-525 cluster.

These are replacing a current ASG-525 cluster running on Rev.4 hardware.

I am hoping to do an in place HA upgrade by adding the new UTM-525 boxes to the cluster, syncing, failing-over and then decommissioning the old ASG boxes.

Has anyone had experience with this or know if it is supported? All 525s are running 9.104-17 FW. There are approximately 10 RED tunnels and 15 AP30s attached also.

Hi Mattrus,

The process you describe is basically how we do it on the lower end units, 120's in my case, so I'd expect the process is the same for all models.

Licensing will prevent you from doing that. You can replace one unit at a time to accomplish your goal.
