Licensing of Active Passive Software

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to set up licensing for an active passive solution.

I have two bare Servers on which I want to intall the UTM9 Software.

One of the boxes is just for failure purposes and in case the first one breaks it should take over operations.

To my knowledge I only Need one Software license for that. But how do I set up the second box without a license at all!?

I haven't bought a licensee yet, just trying to figure out the best and cheapest solution for this.

    Thank you, tried it in the lab, works great.

    However, my reseller says "you HAVE to have premium Support when buying the Software". Is that true? Do I really need that? Kind of loweres the cost-advantage I have with the Software now.

    Next question: I understand that I should connect all interfaces of both boxes with their corresponding network-switch. However I have one interface with an ADSL connection that uses a dsl-modem to connect to the Internet. How do I connect this to a second UTM? I can't use a sSwitch as it's a pppoe line.

    For Germany this is not correct. We are running a Active/Passive-Cluster without premium support.
    Maybe your reseller just doesn´t want to support this setup in case of a crash.

    Just take a small switch and connect your 2 ASGs and the dsl-modem.
    Works great.
