Difference between UTM-525 Rev.4 and Rev.6

Keep in mind most of the complaints for the appliances isn't lack of cpu but ram issues.  I would not expect the latest and greatest cpu's in the new appliances.  I'm curious to see exactly how much more ram they are putting into the new appliances.  There's rumors of ssd's...frankly i think that's going to bite Sophos in the butt because the smaller capacity ssd's don't have enough spare flash area to bear the number of small writes that things like security appliances do.  I'm hoping they stick with hdd's.

210/230 come with 8GB RAM... Sophos learned from the 2GB disaster...

210 has HDD, 230 will have SSD... but you underestimate SSDs... you can rewrite a cell so many times, you won't see it's death due to defective cells... also you don't rewrite over the same cell every time, their internal logic is quite good.

The smaller ones have less over provisioned spare area..plus it's not usually the flash that fails(except for larger ones) it's the controllers.  I have another contact that had to stop using any ssd's below 256 gigs due to the write loads that small writes that abound in firewall distros was causing controller failures...and this was less than a year ago.

I don't underestimate SSD's at all.  I have quite a bit of real world experience with them as well as several other folks i know as well.

Corsair, crucial, intel, just to name a few.  I know that article.  That's one test out of many more that I've seen and others have seen.  SSD's are good for some types of loads and to good for others..it is just how the technology works.  I'm hoping SSD technology has improved to the point for them to be reliable in a critical environment.  Also keep in mind that in these appliances they get toasty..heat is not tolerates as well by an SSD than by an HDD.  Frankly it is a rare instance that HDD is the bottleneck in the UTM software...I'm thinking using SSD's is a kind of "me too" decision.
