Random reboots and no apparent reason

Hey everyone,

I'm experiencing some problems lately.

I got my Astaro on October, 7th. Until last friday, everything went great! But since then, I experience some strange reboots. The climax was on saturday with 5 reboots within half an hour.
The logs shows "reason unknown", that's it.

I know that there are many possibilities, but I want to localize the reason behind this, whether it's faulty RAM or an incompatible hardware.

Here's my config:

Mainboard (incl. CPU): Intel D2500cce
RAM: 2 GB DDR3 RAM
Hard disk: 120 GB 2,5" SATA
additional LAN NIC Intel PRO 1000MT
Astaro: ASTARO UTM9, latest patch level

I didn't find anything about my mainboard in the HCL, but I assume that is okay.

Please help me, it's annoying as hell.

    Are you able to open the device? If so, try re-seating the RAM.

    After Upgrading to v. 9.003 everything seemed fine. Now since Pattern 3777x, it keeps rebooting, like, every 10 minutes.
    I got the feeling that it depends on something with the combination pattern firmware hardware...

    I just don't get it.... I mean, pattern versions are actually non relevant in terms of driver or hardware issues.

    Also, I receive a mail "new pattern version installed", every minute, really every single minute.
    Is this a bug or a feature? it occured with pattern version 37581 for the first time... veery strange and veeery spooky [;)]

    maybe the start-up doesn't complete normal. check locally in the monitor of the ASG the complete start-up services

    if it stuck from hardware reason 
    check the RAM and CPU fan who knows ...

    Hello,

    a cpu fan can be ruled out, because it is passively cooled down. I might check the RAM, however, I know for sure that tools like memtest86+ and co aren't reliable sources. For example, on my office PC, one RAM bar was faulty, but no tool detected it. I was in jeopardy until I curiously removed one of them. Suddenly, the behaviour stopped, so I assumed that it was the faulty one.

    Did anyone ever figure this one out? I'm experiencing random reboots as well. Except this is on a Hyper-V VM. No relevant info in the logs. Nothing... I've created a support ticket. This is very strange and extremely annoying.

    I had an issue with mine, but I believe it was due to the passively cooled GPU over heating - I pulled the side off the case and the rebooting stopped. Watching on the local monitor the display would start blinking just before the reboot.

    Upgraded the GPU cooling and no issues since.

    Yep, probably a heat issue.  Pull the cover off and aim a fan towards the hot parts and see what that does.  Have you run Memtest in your ram yet?  A flaky stick of ram can also cause intermittent issues.  Does your bios log hardware event errors?  If so, might be worthwhile checking that out to see if it provides any clues.
