GA vs. softrelease

I've notices that UTM 9.000 is now released as a soft release. What are the main differences between a soft release and the final GA release? Is the soft release considered beta quality or is it suitable for production environments?

    I would not use a soft-release version in production --- there will more than likely be bug fixes, etc. applied to the GA build that are not present in the soft-release.
