We have been running ASG software for at least 5 years now. We run the software ASG product running on Dell a 2950(250 users) . Our company will be shortly acquiring a new company so I suddenly now need to manage several new remotes sites on a managed MPLS from my provider. I now need to increase license count at HQ(because some of these remote sites wont have ASG units at them since connections wll be coming in directly to remote plants switch.
It's appearing that it's going to be cheaper for me to go with a 320 with unlimited users at the HQ with full package bundle enabled then it is to increase my user count on our ASG software.
So my question is, if I purchase a single 320, can I use the backup config file to restore to my current 2950 Dell server running ASG software in case of emergency? I have a feeling the restore will work(with perhaps renumbering some of the interfaces), but I know I wont be able to use a hardware license from the backup config of the 320 on the software version of the product. Can I limp by on a trial license while I wait for a RMA 320 unit to come back?
