Loosing network connectivity under Hyper-V

I've got ASG 8.303 running as a guest in a Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V server.

After a day or so the VM will loose network connectivity on the LAN side only, the WAN (Cable Modem) is up and functioning normally. Rebooting the VM fixes the issue temporarily.

I've tried switching network adapters for the LAN side as well as disabling all the Offloading on the NIC's with no success.

I've never seen anything like this before, anyone have any ideas on where to begin troubleshooting?

    I never tested it only the LAN and DMZ lost connection and that the WAN is still active, so how did u figure that out?

    Next, are you able to log in via console on the Astaro? And did u checked the Logfiles for anything?

    I think its the same problem, my Astaro stayed up for 8 days the last time and then suddenly lost connection and wasn't able to webadmin etc, bit console still worked.

    This issue shuld be investigated, since Hyper-V is official supported and more and more user experince this issue, also in VMWare...

    I know this to be the case because I can reach the firewall from another network. I can VPN in and the dashboard shows both Ethernet adapters as up and green. Pings from the firewall to any internal IP address fail.

    From the computers on LAN side I cannot ping the Firewall IP. So as best I can tell the Virtual Ethernet Adapter servicing the LAN side is failing.

    And did u checked the Logfiles for anything?

    I am not sure which log file to be looking at, I am not that familiar with Unix/Linux. Which ones should I be looking at?

    I last rebooted it yesterday afternoon, when it goes down again I'll grab the log files and check thru them.

    Any details on when this might be fixed or possible workarounds other than moving it to ESXi?

    I doubt that moving to ESXi solves this problem. As you can see in my linked post, Astaro also have this issue in KVM and VMWare (posts by nord and UNO)

    I seems that it is a general problem with "virtual drivers" or "guest additions". 

    Unfortunatly, I'm not realy able to investigate this problem with some Astaro Techs, because I only have Astaro running in HyperV as home licenc at my place. All my costumers have Hardware Appliances...

    Maybe someone can report this issue to astaro with a real costumer setup and licence.

    I actually had this running under ESXi 4.x for years without issue.

    Well I also got it running for a long time in Hyper-V...it is an issue since 8.2xx and 8.3xx. With 8.1xx everything was fine in Hyper-V.

    Well, if it used to run stable then there is hope they can fix it. Guess I'll sit back and be patient and reboot every few days. Thanks for the info.
