Crashes in Hyper-V VM

Hi folks,

I'm having some strange problems with my astaro 8.302 running in a hyper-v vm. 

From time to time the astaro just shuts down. I can't ping it, no webadmin etc. But the vm in the hyper-v manager is still running.

So when this problems occurs, I just can restart the vm and the problem is gone but I want to figure out the cause of this problem.

Does anyone have an idea how I can do that?

Btw, it was said 8.303 will be out later this month, but today is the last day of the month [;)]

    Mine has been up for as long as a week without issues.  I just turned it up a couple weeks ago so it has been rebooted due to various things, none being a issue with ASG.  I have 2 NIC's both are set to flexible.  Running ESXI 5, basic PC hardware and currently 3 other VM's

    I can reproduce with hyper-v and 8.304 here. When downloading ~70 Mb/s (two MSDN download links) it is ok. When going to the limit ~100Mb/s (four MSDN download links), the system hangs after 1 - 2 minutes.

    now that's interesting..i don't have the kind of bandwidth available..but it interesting to see how it's reproducible...what kind of physical nics are in the host machine?

    For the LAN there is some kind of Realtek onboard adapter. OS only states "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller". The cable connection is handled by a "Netgear FA311v2" adapter. This adapter is "only" a 100MBit device.
    The Realtek is shared with the host maschine, the Netgear is exclusive for the Astaro VM.

    netgear=realtek.  realtek are known ot have issues under laods.  i would not pin this on hyper-v until you put in some broadcom or intel nic and shtudown/remove the realteks.

    Ok, thanks. I will try that the next days.

    Tests done. I've added a "Intel Pro/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter". With disabled Realtek and Netgear adapter, the issue still arises. Also tested: disable the shared use for the LAN port in Hyper-V virtual network manager and use a dedicated NIC for VM and host traffic. Still the same.
    In all tests, the connect to the LAN is affected, the external connection stays alive.

    only one other test..did you start with a new..fresh vm build with the new nics?  just to be thorough...

    Done. It's still the same. New VM, fresh install. But issue only occurs, when using web security. Direct download works, no network crash.
