Hard Drive crashed

I have a customer who ASG120 went offline with the HDD light flashing read.

I assume that the hard drive has crashed.

I've opened a S1 case with Astaro and all they asked me to do was to power cycle the box which of course is the first thing we did.

Now, they have gone silent and I'm not sure what my options are for getting this resolved.  The client is a store and it affects their remote stores (they use Red's) and that have to now manually do every credit card transaction.

Assuming it is the hard drive, can I replace it with a new hard drive and reimage it?  Can I put in my own PC and then rebuild from their backup?  If so, what happens to my licenses?

Help!  [:)]

  • That is true, but you can't just slap any old HD in that box and load the ASG HW Image---it checks to make sure it's a legit ASG Appliance, and swapping hard drives will make it fail that test.

Let Astaro Support replace the unit -- if you have Standard or Premium Support, they will do that.
