Manual up load of Up2Dtae file Fails

I am on 8.001 ( after a rebuild ) and have tryed to manualy up load 8.002 and it keeps on failing with the error "BAD REQUEST" 

when I reloaded the system I tryed to restore my backup from last month and get the same error, the version that I had loaded was 8.203 when I did the backup.

so there is 2 questions

1/ why the error from the manual up2date

2/ can you reload a config from a later version is 8.203 to 8.001

    I'm with Ian on starting with a new CDROM, but, if you have to continue from where you are, ...

    I wonder if this isn't a licensing issue.  Is the license date such that it still allows Up2Dates?

    You aren't using an ACC to cache Up2Dates, are you?  You might try deactivating that if so.

    If this is a home-use situation, have you tried downloading from the command line?

    OK, I am officialy confused.

    I checked the up2data this morning and there were the updates....

    OK si I went through the updates till I got to 8.203 all went well

    then I tryed to restore my backup from the previous firewall config which was 8.203 and still the same error.

    the problem seams to be with the file upload from my pc to the firewall, as I dont actualy start the restore till the file is there.

    Help as there was a lot of effort to get to the previous firewall config.

    the PC that the backups are stored on is a Win 7 32bit......if that helps
