8.300 Firmware (Giant with a trouble)

The following problems occured while I upgrade to 8.3 firmware
-The port on my switch cisco 2960 where Astaro 320 was connected produced lots of errors. The switch cisco auto shut down that port saying the port is err-disabled, I had to shut and then no shut. After a while it does the same thing.
-The download speed on internet file downloads took forever, a 71.9 MB file was downloaded in 1hr-15min
-My security company could not see our premises from their cameras.
Yesterday I had to downgrade to 8.202 and put my config from 8.202 to make Astaro and my Swicth happy. Things are normal now. I have been advised not to install 8.300 will the time Astaro fixes these issues.

Have also been informed to check other people/users how or what they are going through before installing any new firmware.......like I have all the time on earth to do that  [:)][8-)]

  • Can reproduce this here. MAC address handling was NOT changed in 8.300.
That ID was moved to v9 during development of 8.300, but this ID only allows to set a manual MAC address of the bridge and will NOT change the default MAC address behavior of a bridge, which is:
A bridge will always the LOWEST MAC address of all Member Interface. If you add a new Member Interface with a lower MAC address than the current one used, the Bridge will change the MAC to the new lowest one.

Any change to get the configuration file send to uweber@astaro.com?

    Cheers
     Ulrich
  • Ulrich, please keep us posted... I have one critical customer that runs in bridged mode, and this would ruin their day if 8.300 has some sort of bug involving bridged mode.
