APC UPS not recognized

Had a customer add a APC XS 1300 UPS. (It uses a APC custom cable, RJ45 to USB)

Shut everything down, plugged and powered up.

Should there be some indication that a UPS is attached?

Astaro Security Gateway uses NUT for it's UPS infrastructure, I would suggest that you see if your UPS is supported by NUT at the following URL:

There is a Knowledge Base article relating to UPS in Astaro Security Gateway, but I think that it is a bit outdated please see at the following URL:

The XS Series units are "hobbled" ... you need to either use a Back-UPS or Smart-UPS version of an APC UPS for communications between the ASG and UPS to work.

APC Back-UPS XS are supported by NUT via USB (newhidups) drivers.
