can't access webadmin

During install, when you set the IP Address of WebAdmin, this also becomes the address of the internal LAN interface.  This same address should also be the default gateway for your LAN systems.  I'd guess that setting the gateway to a completely different address is the root of your issue.

As much of a pain as it may be, I would suggest reinstalling and leaving the gateway, which is labelled as optional, blank.  Hopefully this will resolve the issue.  Also, you can save yourself an up2date step by starting with the 8.103 ISO.  ftp://ftp.astaro.de/ASG/v8/software_appliance/iso/

I left it 192.168.2.100 during the install.  Also when I hook up a monitor to the astaro computer it shows:

192.168.2.100
login: _

any other suggestions, this is my second install to try and resolve this issue

Have you tried connecting to WebAdmin using https://192.168.2.100:4444 and https://192.168.2.1:4444?  Is it possible that you accidentally assigned that address to what you believe is the WAN interface?

I switched the cables going to the wan interface and the internal interface and it's working now.  I'm posting with my astaro computer working right now. thanks for the replies Scott.

No problem.  Always a bit tricky getting the NIC assignments right during install.
