APC SmartUPSs and Automatic Startup

I have 2 120s and a 220 that are all Appliances loaded with 8.103 that are plugged in to APC SmartUPS 2200s at their sites. I have read and understand that if I attach them to the UPSs via USB that they will shutdown once the UPS sends a low battery signal but what I want to know is if they will start back up once the power is restored. It seems in my experience that if the power just goes out or if they get unplugged (Oops) that they turn back on but if you issue a shutdown command unplug it and plug it back it you have to turn them on. I could be wrong that is why I want to verify. Thanks!

    I had NJ office get the power on and off for about 5 hours straight.
    Thank Gawd for my line conditioners otherwise powering up would of wasted my machines.

    Lets hope for no more canes please. The last state is a nice feature but the 
    power flickering off and on multiple times per second was not.

    I just shut down and went home.

    Tornado last year
    Earthquake last month
    Hurricane last week

    What's next 4 more years of Obama?
