APC SmartUPSs and Automatic Startup

I have 2 120s and a 220 that are all Appliances loaded with 8.103 that are plugged in to APC SmartUPS 2200s at their sites. I have read and understand that if I attach them to the UPSs via USB that they will shutdown once the UPS sends a low battery signal but what I want to know is if they will start back up once the power is restored. It seems in my experience that if the power just goes out or if they get unplugged (Oops) that they turn back on but if you issue a shutdown command unplug it and plug it back it you have to turn them on. I could be wrong that is why I want to verify. Thanks!

  • So, the question is: Does an ASG respond to a wake-up message from an APC, or does it simply use the USB connection to know when to send alerts about power going out and the UPS running out of juice?
