Up2date 8.201 released???

AAA is encrypted. Just deinstall AND install again.

During the beta, I had no problems with swap usage till the final two or three releases including the release candidate. But that swap usage was related to the http proxy using a lot more ram in this release compared to the previous 8.1x releases. Also, the proxy was seg faulting and leaking memory. Unfortunately the first RC (release candidate) that was released before the final soft release had the http proxy completely broken. Once that was fixed, it has been hit and miss for different users.

I am not saying that you are not seeing swap usage with your large install, what I noticed during the beta was that the swap and memory usage was related to the http proxy specially if you were running it with local content database enabled.

installed 8.201, a few minutes ago, so it is a bit early to comment about this version, except that the http proxy database downloaded a new version and the proxy does not pass traffic until the fresh database install is completed. My ADSL service runs at 4mb flatout.

8.200 soft release v2, I run a small home installation, maximum devices is approx 15 mix of IPv4 and IPv6. The ASG has 4gb of ram and the proxy database in memory. Swap grows gradually by small amounts, where as like billybob prior to a couple of beta releases ago this didn't happen. 
My http proxy is setup with profiles and different settings , transparent, full transparent and standard mode.
I use the ASG to scan and relay my smtp traffic (no local server).
IPS gives strange rejects, I will now wait until Sunday before investigating further eg Saturday's reports.

Forgot to thank Billybob for the heads up on the release.

8.201 fixes the items listed in the release notes posted above and nothing else.  If you are experiencing another issue, then it isn't fixed yet (like inordinate swap growth, which is affecting me as well).  Further fixes are already in the works for 8.202 and beyond.

@maygyver:  You posted the same thing at the end of the beta for this issue.  Not certain how you are checking this, but the bug with AAA on XP was reported and confirmed by multiple testers, then also confirmed by an Astaro Dev and QA and added into the mantis queue.

I actually had two different threads on excessive swap and high memory usage. The astaro team fixed some things the first time supposedly but they never acknowledged high memory usage as a problem without local content database. Here is one of the threads http://www.astaro.org/closed-forums-read-only/asg-v8-betas/asg-v8-200-beta/asg-v8-200-beta-closed-threads/38267-8-174-info-none-http-proxy-memory-usage.html . Everybody here including Scott, Ian, and Paul posted their high memory findings in the beta. I wish you had posted these graphs in the beta or even the soft realease thread instead of here and they probably would have paid more attention considering your large user base.

Could you please post a little bit more about your configuration specially http proxy (single/dual scan and mode)and if you are using local content database?

I thought it was opera problem You should have beta tested with us even if it was for a little while when time permitted. I thought my opera version was broken and I love opera. Now I will have to use GOOGIL Chrome

No, this is for sure a Astaro issue. My problems started directly after upgrading from 8.103 to 8.200, I also didn't change my Opera installation since then. (I've been using opera for more than ten years now and love it, too [:D])

I really shoud have taken part in the beta and if it only was for my own use [:P]

Regarding the swap issue I also noted a significant increase in memory and swap usage since 8.200 here. After approx. 2 weeks of running it my ASG became very unresponsive and slow (both memory and swap usage were >80%). Yesterday I increased my ASG memory from 1 GB to 1,5 GB, according to the dashboard this seems to be enough...

You guys don't miss a thing [:)] I think someone must have an FTP bot watcher on our site. The "soft-release" post with some of my comments and news is coming right up. Watch the top of this forum in the next 5 minutes...

@Monach:  With more memory it will still creep up, just at a slower rate.  Give it a day or two.  [:)]
