MD RAID1 Kernel Modules

I use the ASG 8.103 Home product on my own hardware, IBM xSeries 335-61x. I love it!
My built in RAID controller (LSI 53C1020 SCSI Controller) stopped working, MPT error 40000200h,devfn=8.
I'm having to use an Adaptec 29160LP Low Profile Ultra160 SCSI Controller now.
Is there anyway to get the MD & RAID1 kernel modules. I'm really uncomfortable running off one hard drive without RAID.

    I still like the idea, but I have other peeves that are bigger issues for me.  I just posted a comment there:

    Outside of losing some logs and reports, the only additional downtime is the time it takes to copy a backup to a USB memory stick.

    Assume that you have a second drive installed and that whenever you finish applying an Astaro Up2Date to the primary drive, you manually mirror it to your second drive.  Also, you have configuration backups emailed to you every day.

    When the first drive dies, put the most-recent configuration backup in the root of a USB memory stick.  Switch the PC to boot from the second drive, insert the memory stick and boot.


    I realize that that takes some extra effort after each Up2Date, but, with RAID adapters under $50, it's harder than ever to justify spending developer time when anyone needing RAID can get it for a very small investment.  For under $30, the little StarTech card, for example, lets you do striping and mirroring - thus giving you improved performance.  I don't know that that's compatible with Astaro though.

    Hi Bob, how do you do the mirror? afaik, using dump or dd won't give you a consistent snapshot of the postgres databases, for example.
