Hi, we currently have an ASG220 unit but the performance is pretty poor. Without the unit, the internet is very speedy with pages loading instantly. With the unit however it takes a few seconds to load each page.
I have since read that its possible to load the CFF into memory which we did, this sped things up straight away. Not as quick as without the unit but a definite improvement. The issue now is that the unit only has 1GB of ram so alot of information is being paged slowing the unit down overall. The only solution i can think of is to dump the ASG unit and go with a dedicated server.
I have a server which is a Dell R610, has a 2.26ghz quad core processor and 8GB of RAM, obviously a massive improvement over the ASG unit.
The question is this, is it worth changing over from the ASG unit to a dedicated server. Has anyone done this themselves and was there massive gains in performance?
Thanks
Chris
