Stuck at Pattern 21650

Hi all,

can anybody tell me what pattern version is the latest? I think my ASG (V8.102) is stuck at Pattern 21650 and shows some stange behavior in http proxy (http proxy restarts sometimes, can't download some pdf's)

There were no config changes during the last week.

The up2date.log shows entries like:
2011:04:05-13:55:40 verw-asg320-01 audld[10380]: Starting Up2Date Package Downloader
2011:04:05-13:55:40 verw-asg320-01 audld[10380]: patch up2date possible
2011:04:05-13:55:41 verw-asg320-01 audld[10380]: id="3701" severity="info" sys="system" sub="up2date" name="Authentication successful"

  • Hi all,

I have your same pattern version loaded in a v7.510, (apparently) no issues here...
  • Looking across 30 managed systems, the latest pattern version is 21650, as of right now, 4/5/11 11:24AM EDT.

  • OK - thanks for the reply - was my first thought because there were no change since yesterday morning for the pattern version.

    Some additional information:
We use HTTP Proxy in AD SSO Mode and SMTP Proxy both with dual scan enabled. No IPS/IM/P2P.

If the download of a pdf (or an other filetype...) fails the message in the scanning screen is :"Can't allocate memory" (Mem in Dashboard is about 38% on a ASG320 with 2GB Ram, no Swap used)

If I change from dual scan to single scan the problem seems to disapear.

Last CLAM update is some days ago.

Any ideas how to go further?

    Regards
    Manfred
  • I think there is a known issue in 8.102 with one of the AV scanners... this probably has to be fixed with a firmware up2date.   I've run across this before... it's rare, but there are certain files that will trigger this.

  • Hm - amount used in 'data' section in the dashboard is growing from normaly 2% to 26% now.

I see ........ a fresh install from CD and a restore of the configbackup coming....

    Or has someone another hint?

  • Pattern 21657 is out there on most of my customer systems now.

  • Yep - this Pattern was downloaded an installed this afternoon here. But the problems still persist.
  • Today we discovered, that the http proxy hangs every time a new Pattern is installed (message 'avira initialisation failed' in the contentfiler log). After disableing the automatic pattern installation the proxy worked the hole day. Since the data disk fills up continously I decided to to a reimage of the machine (my first time ....).

Ok - that took me half an hour including the import of a backup from USB Stick and the problem seems to be gone.

The reinstalltion went seamless and the import of a backup worked also without problems - a good and quick solution - faster than searching for a problem/solution down in the linux system.
