Cannot access webadmin due to license issue

Hi we have astaro HW. The license of Antivirus and content filtering.. expired few months earlier, but i was able to use some features in astaro. Now i was surprised that i can't access even the web admin. Once i enter the authentication i got the following: 
-------------------------------
"Your license has expired
The currently installed license for this product has expired. In order to continue using WebAdmin, please upload a valid license below."
-------------------------------
WHY??? knowing that astaro is still working and running as a firewall.
So now if i want to configure astaro i need to use the command line?? the question is can i use the command line, and how can i know where the configuration is stored?

I think this is very bad to have the web admin licensed.

    Hi,
    You can run in the "Essential Edition" mode, which is free.
    This would give you WebAdmin, PacketFilter, and a few other features.

    If you want the Network Security features, then you need to renew it every year.

    The Essential Edition sounds good to me but when I open the web interface it asks me for a license and won't let me do anything else...
