New Astaro Install = Slow Internet, advice please

I have just installed Release 7.504. The problem is that my download speed, which is normally about 1000KB second has gone down to about 300KB a second? 

I have installed onto a VMware 1.0.9 Virtual machine with 1GB RAM and a single processor 3ghz. Host is 3 Ghz CPU, 3 GB RAM. I have intentially not configured any of the additional features of astaro, so the only thing I have configured is the Packet Filter, with the following rules: 

internal network>outbound>Internet allow all,

internet>inbound>all traffic deny.

Has anyone else has similar issues? Could anyone please offer me any advice?

    which version of xp and are you running any anti-anything on that xp?


    Are you asking this in regards to installing VMware server 2 or regarding the existing installation?

    I have no desire to waste anymore time trying to install VMware Server 2. 

    Regarding the Astaro... I have tried running with the host firewall (comodo) switched off, with the same results. I do have antivir installed, but I wouldnt expect that the interfere with anything.

    When I get the time, I will install Astaro directly to the physical machine, and check throughput to determine whether something with the virtualisation is the issue. But... I don't wish to do this as the long term solution.
