ASG-Free Home Use Firewall License Problem

how old is the licence?

The only thing I can think of is to download a new copy because the one you have appears to be corrupt.

Hi all,

You need to convert your home use license to the new license model, in order to use it with ASG V8.

This can be done by yourself within myastaro.
Just log in an click on your home use license and there you will see a convert button which you need to click.

The converted license should be able install in V8 without a problem.

Hi,

I did the license upgrade and still cannot load [:S] the license into the 7.5xx that I currently have installed. An attempt to load the license in a 8.0x VM also does not work.

Any suggestions?

I have include my original license and the converted license below. The original license is the text file that I received in an email after registering the 7.5xx version.  The new format looks exactly like the webpage that is shown when I view my license information on the Astaro website.

The old license is still loaded on my 7.506 FW and I am trying to load the new formated license on a Test 8.001 VM system (testing before I install on actual FW).

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The new License should also be a Textfile! And the important Change for a v8 License is the Line:

LicenseMode = ondemand

(Your old File has a "classic" in that Line)

i checked your license and it looks as a valid V8 home use license. 

This is a software license and can not be installed into an ASG HArdware appliance. 

in order to track down the problem, you could look into two logfiles where you see a reason for not accepting the license. 

If possible, please log into the ASG via SSH and run the following command prior importing the license:

tail -f /tmp/confd-debug.log /var/log/confd.log

Which version of ASG do you have?

Today I downloaded the license again and it still send me the code for the Home License Use webpage.

That´s extra Strange... I did a download of my License again and it just did what i expected... a "astarolicense999999.txt"

I just used the "Download" Button form the "License Management" Overview Page (see Attachment)...

You might want to try a different Browser, or maybe your Browser blocks a needed Script/Cookie for the Download.

I finally got the license files. Switched from firefox to IE and it still didn't work. Then I realised that both browsers were using an external download manager.

The problem was in the download manager that is installed. When I use the download manager, it would download the actual html from the download page. When I click cancel in the download manager, then it gave me the proper license file.

I just ran the upload and it works in v8.

Looks like I'm back in business with my testing, then v7-2-v8 upgrade.
