Rack Mounting ASG220 Hardware

Hello,

I have an ASG220 (1U) that I would like to rack mount. However, I'm not too sure how to go about this. I have the front mounting brackets that came with it, but I'm pretty sure that isn't enough to support the whole unit. Do I need to buy a specific set of rails or will any 1U rails work?

I have several ASG 220 that are only mounted using the front ears, and it is no problem.

Thanks ReD-MaN. Are they newer 220's? I have an old 220 and it is quite a bit smaller, so I could see no problems using the front ears for those. However, our new one is quite a bit bigger and heavier. Will it be okay to mount this one with just the ears too? It's not that I don't believe you, I just want to be 100% sure before I mount the thing so I don't do any damage.

I don't have the new ones online yet, but I will have three very soon.

My 6 are all the older models.

Lane, it works OK, but I'd make sure that the power cable is connected in such a way that someone pulling on the cable lifts the back instead of pulling it down. I agree that Astaro should have the case drilled to accept "real" rails or some way to support the rear of this long 1U box.
