swap near full, heavy RAM usage help

Can you tell what the offending process is? In WebAdmin Support>Advanced>Process List Tab. 
 
If you can narrow the issue down to a particular service, you can try disabling it, wait a minute or two to see if swap and mem usage go down, then re-enabling. Keep in mind that change of state for some services, like HTTP proxy, will disrupt connectivity for a short time.
 
You definately will want to schedule some down time soon to do updates. In the 7.5x line, the current production version is 7.505, with 7.506 in early availability for manual download and install.  V8 was just released as well, but your best off sticking with 7.5x until you have time to research V8 and get caught up.  [:)]

Ok, so the biggest offenders are:

at 43.5%

I guess thats going to be normal? When you add in the additional 25-30% from the other random services (mostly 1-3%) it adds up.

I have to agree..first get those machines updated...BUT depending on your usage you also may need a ram upgrade.  What features are you using and how many users?

I was hoping the issue was a regular process, but with it being the postgres database itself, bumping a service probably won't help. Take a look in the mail manager and see if you have stuff in the pop3 quarentine that you can clear. Even with this, I don't believe that items are actually cleared from the db until the regular automated DB maintenance window. Other than that, your best bet is a reboot. If yours is a company with regular business hours, maybe you can remote in tonight after business hours and reboot the box without disruption.

Id also like to inform you here that MANY changes were made to clustering in 7.500+  We significantly altered the configuration and optimized dozens of areas regarding that mechanism. You should upgrade as soon as possible, and im confident your issues will be resolved then.

Great info here guys...exactly why i came here for help. I will schedule downtime this weekend and get these boxes updated w/restarts and ill report back.

Are there any concerns i should be aware of in upgrading? If i understand correctly i can simply go for the latest update and not worry about anything in between? Is this a bad idea?

Yes, if you select the newest Up2Date, Astaro should process all of them in the correct sequence.

Don't forget that if you go up all the way up, you will need to update your license. This should be painless if planned correctly.
