swap near full, heavy RAM usage help

Hi all,
so i've not been into this fw cluster for several months and have found today that my swap disk is near full-98% of 1gb and RAM usage notification stating 90% or higher over past 7 days.  Have not been restarted in 1 year today and are running 7.404 (i know, its time to update). 
This is a Hot Standby with dual ASG 425s. 

Is there anything i can do now to alleviate some of this before i go ahead and update/restart this thing. I have to notify users of the maintenance and wait for a weekend.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Ok, so the biggest offenders are:

    at 43.5%
    postgres 12921  0.0 43.5 1135048 901148 ?      Sl    2009  28:27  |   \_ slon asg_cluster dbname=reporting user=ha_sync

    and

    at 19%
    postgres 24548  0.0 19.6 523660 406648 ?       Sl   Feb08  10:11      \_ slon asg_cluster dbname=pop3 user=ha_sync

    I guess thats going to be normal? When you add in the additional 25-30% from the other random services (mostly 1-3%) it adds up.
