Change IP of Interface

Hi
I tried to  change the IP address of one of my NIC interfaces, but registered that the NIC definitions didn't update. So I had to delete the interface in question and define it over again but with the correct IP. Is this normal behavior?

I'm a little confused that you say you tried to change the IP on one interface, but that "the NIC definitions didn't update."  This normally works just fine.  If you tried to assign the same IP to two different interfaces, that should have given you an error message of some sort instead of just ignoring your instructions; in my book, that would be a bug.
