Need help with ASG v7.5 Install.

Hey Guys, new to this.

We downloaded the .iso for asg v7.5092, we have also built our own computer to host this on.

Specs are as follows: -

Mobo - Gigabyte ga-h55-ud3h
Processor - Intel Core i3-530 2.9Ghz
4GB DDR3 Ram
Samsung USB CD-R, DVD-RW Drive.

All products are brand new and were assembled this morning by myself.

The problem we have is trying to install v7.5 we get to step 3 out of 7 and the computer detects hardware then it tells us that the Installation had failed, it wants us to remove the cd-rom and restart the system.

We have tried countless other combinations of hardware including using an IDE hard drive switching to an IDE CD-Drive and back again. 

We have also tried playing around with different setups including "nosmp" and "classic".

Have browsed through some of the threads on here that relate to what we are experiencing and have tried the Alt, F2, F3 and F4 solutions previously suggested by another member on here.

Also tried md5sum with the iso file.

Please help!

    be sure to use the ASG iso on your own hw, not the SSI!

    Thank you for your response, the latest version that I can see to download is v7.502, if you know of a later one then please feel free to make me aware of it, our end user portal shows the latest version is v7.502.


    We have tried 3 different versions on 3 different machines and we still get the same error messages. We've tried V7, V7.2, and tried V7.5

    Any more info from anyone that has had similar problems and resolved them would be a big help.

    best you switch to the logging console to look what really happens.
    alt + arrows allow you to switch between consoles.

    Thank you, will give it a try.

    Looking at the installation logs, there seem to be a few files that it cannot find. :

    sys,
    proc,
    boot,
    opt/inst,
    var/storage,
    var/log,
    tmp.

    All these lines begin with  umount: /dest//

    Hello, sorry for my poor english.

    Astaro supported NOT the NEWEST Hardware.
    Downgrade to an older Hardware.

    I have the same problem with an ICH9 (intel chipsatz) mainboard from last year.

    Thank you all very much for your help. We have decided to use an old machine for our install and it is installing now. Shame we can't use more up to date hardware.

    Wait another month and Astaro will release beta v8 which will sport an updated kernel supporting a lot of new hardware. Hopefully your hardware will be on the list!

    I'm pretty sure the ASG v8 kernel will support Intel's new i7/i5/i3 processors and associated chipsets, along with their Xeon counterparts.  Such hardware though, is significant overkill except for the largest of enterprise installations.
