Multiple WAN Interfaces

Hi, i'm running Astaro 7.504 with 8 interfaces.
- 4 interfaces contain internal networks.
- 4 interfaces (should) go to the (same) external network.
When i setup the second external interface, it doesn't allow me to hand him the gateway, as the same gateway is already set as default gateway on the first external interface. When I add it without gateway it's fine and can be activated, but isn't available in the network.

Why I want this:
project 1-4, have sometimes one ore multiple servers that shall have an own network. they create lots of traffic, that's why I want to give each project one external interface / 1Gbit connection.

a gordian knot for me - anyone can strike it?

    the only way to put another gateway is to enable uplink interfaces and put all the interfaces that have gateway there

    You could use 'Link Aggregation' since you are connecting to the same service over the same connection.  I'm amazed that you have an ability to connect to an external service that will handle 4GB - wow!

    PS Unless you have an extremely powerful computer (like an ASG 625) as the host for your ASG, I don't think you will get 4GB of throughput.  With the upcoming V8 late this year, you probably will be able to keep ahead of such volumes of data.

    If I had access to 4 independent up links at those speeds I'd give the Uplink Balancing tab a try.  

    You didn't specify if your server generates high I/O or high bandwidth network load, but either way, the load balancing of your uplink connections between 4 independent links should significantly improve performance for both situations (especially if one or more servers are not completely maxing out their separate interface).

    Note that the IPS will be the bottleneck for passing traffic; if you're using it, be sure to tune it by specifying your servers, and disabling unneeded categories.

    Thanx a lot for all responses.
    The ASL7 is installed on Fujitsu RX300 system with 3GB RAM and yes 4 times 1GBit connections. The servers generate high traffic (geodata transfers) with little ports open. The hint of configuring IPS specially on them might be really a good one.
    I'll also try the balancing / link aggregation and will report when I've got test results. Even though I actually really want to guarantee 1 GBit per server it might be better not to use it.
