No.  When re-enabled the Link error goes away.

However there appears to be a routing issue.
No traffic from inside the network except via VPN [[:(]]

I have disabled the failover interface and now traffic is routing.

I've tried cleaning up the IP's and re-enabling the PPPoE link.
PPPoE is in failover mode.

Ethernet now shows error on link status
PPPoE goes online live.

Traffic from internal stops routing.

I have to leave PPPoE disabled [[:(]]

Looks like a bug here as well.

When converting failover IPs, if you have more than one, you end up with a comma on the network host definition:
ie: UFO x.x.x.x,

I think I'll post a support query for this one.

Astaro support says that several people are reporting this issue and to await a patch or other fix.

We have the same problem:

1.    ADSL-1 which was in link error state, was removed and reconfigured from scratch.
2.    After reconfiguration state is UP as well as Link, and work fine.
3.    ADSL-1 was added to uplink balancing list.
4.    ADSL-1 changed link state to error.

Also we get quite a lot of the following errors:

"Your internet uplink ADSL-3 is down!"

"Your internet uplink ADSL-3 is up again!"

We have only a single internet connection, but I wanted to experiment with load balancing and multipathing.

I enabled an unconnected interface, then created an 'Uplink Balancing' entry combining the unconnected interface with our active WAN connection.  It was no surprise that I was informed: "Interlink uplink is down."

Then, 13 minutes later: "Up2Date prefetch failed: All 10 Authentication Servers failed" - now, that unconnected interface was in the second position in Uplink Balancing.

I disabled the balance, and SMTP stopped.  I rebooted the Astaro, but it hasn't come back.  I'll get to the office an hour ahead of everyone else to restore from a recent backup that doesn't have anything at all configured in Uplink Balancing.

Try to removed and reconfigured the interface from scratch.
Unless you have a hole configuration already depending on this interface, it seems a fast way  to resolve the problem.

Unfortunately 7.401 didn't resolve the problem.

Astaro Support ssh'd into our Astaro last night and "created two (root readonly) files in /etc/init.d with some scripting for iptables" to resolve the issue.  They don't understand the cause and fix yet, so if anyone else experiences "broken DNS" when they test their uplink failover, you'll need to submit a support request.
