Astaro Admin Page

I am trying to access Astaro's GUI via LAN by I get a timeout connection

Configuration:
WAN
!
!
astaro ---- lan router

lan router: 192.168.11.0/24

Astaro:192.168.2.100/24

I can ping the device from a client (i.e 192.168.11.4)
Any help would be much appreciated

  • Try https://192.168.2.100:4444/

If not, then change your IP to 192.168.2.x and try again.

  • I did but doesn't seem to work. I can access the GUI if I connect directly my laptop to Astaro which makes me think it's somekind of routing issue. I have v7.3
  • Any help guys? Unfortunately the Workstation is on different subnet (192.168.11.x)and I don't know how to connect to the GUI(192.168.2.x)
  • What is the router's external IP and netmask? (Is it in the 192.168.2.0/24 network?)

Simple, just temporarily add an Ip in the 192.168.2.x network range as an additional IP on a workstation that can reach the unit via the eth0 interface... if the Astaro is listening on teh 192.168.2.100 IP (the default for appliances) then you should be able to reach it that way.

  • BarryG:
    external Wireless router : 192.168.11.0/24

    astaro eth0 192.168.2.100 /24

    BlucekConvergent:

I tried to add a static ip on my laptop 192.168.2.x /24 with gateway 192.168.11.1 but doens't seem to work. Is that what you mean?
  • First, although I don't have any experience with bridging a home Astaro behind a router, there are others who do, and that sounds like a fundamental issue that you'll need to address once you can access the Astaro.

Set the laptop's gateway address to 192.168.2.100.

  • I 've already tried this but doesn't work

the wireless router  has the following config
    192.168.11.1--Gateway
    192.168.11.x (pool of 10 adresses)

the router is connected via ethernet to 192.168.2.100 eth0 interface (Astaro.)

I can connect direclty if I unplug the wireless router but I want to be able to access the Astaro GUI via the external router.
  • It sounds like you need to add a static route in your home router or change its subnet to /16, but I don't think this setup will work the way you think you want it to.  Read up on bridging and search here for suggestions.

    Cheers - Bob
