Recent Firmware Update Did Something Interesting

Hey,
I just installed the recent firmware update 7.302 I believe and I noticed that it completely rest my system. I has to configure the unit from scratch Hostname, EULA and all.

Anyone have any ideas why that could happen?

  • I went from 7.201 (or something close to that) to 7.203 without any issues, or so I thought. None of the VPN traffic was working. I took a look at my SNAT settings and they were all disabled.
It appears they didn't like the service being "any". I ended up making an new definition of "ALL" with source and destination ports TCP and UDP 1:65535 and everything started working.
Oh well, blame it on Linux.
  • Kwyrick, the ANY service rule (as used in NAT rules) disabling like they did is documented; it's in the 7.300 up2date and release notes.
