Update 7.202 -> 7.300 failed

Hi!

A customer form us can not update his ASG120 via Frontend, everytime the same error "Up2date failed" or something else.

i tested "auisys.plx --rpmargs --force" in the console, but the kernel package failed:

Had the same issue. Support had me reimage the device with 7.300 and then import backup file from V6. This was an ASG220.

Once I completed the import of the backup file, I updated to 7.301

Not the most elegant solution.....

Same here...5 SGA out of 11 failed to upgrade. I have no idea on which state they are but i guess we will have to go out to the customers and reinstall everything [:(]

What happened:

We tested a couple of upgrades and they were fine. After we started the upgrade of all the remaining units. We Choosed to go from 7.202 -> 7.301.

We already noticed something was wrong when after 20 minutes the device did not reboot.

We rebooted them manually after about 2 hours. When they restarted ALL of them showed installed version 7.202 and no upgrade Available.

After about 10 hours we checked again an this time there was an upgrade available but it was 7.301! There was no 7.300 upgrade available.

The ASG was showing a possible upgrade from 7.202 -> 7.301 without going thru 7.300...which of course failed.

In any case, i guess the ASG are now in an unknown state and as a preventive measure we will go out and reinstall all of them...

What a pity...

Hello,

I have the same problem on a new ASG 120.
We got it in version 7.100 and the updates worked until 7.202.
Now we have the updates for 7.300 and 7.301 but both don't work.

HI there all,

The up2date should work without any problem, i have upgraded 8 machines myself without a single issue.

Could one of you guys please post the complete up2date install log of a failed installation. It should show us what the problem was and why it did'n complete.

Hi,
we are currently not aware of any problems with the installation of the kernel RPM during the 7.300 up2date. If you have one of those machines it would be great if you could provide me an SSH login to the machine. Please send the credentials via forum PM or to agrosse at astaro dot com.

We actually did see this issue, but we thought it fixed and the bug was already closed. It is now reopened again, and we're currently investigating the issue.

I'm currently having the same issue; However at one point I was able to update to 7.3.

Then for giggles I re-installed back to 7.02 but now it will not update past 7.202.

I had the same issue but got it working after I cleared out /var/up2date/sys and had the ASG re-download the update.

Curious... we had our "up2date" weekend this past Sat. and Sun. for all of our managed customers, and all the updates went on without a hitch ...

I had the same issue but got it working after I cleared out /var/up2date/sys and had the ASG re-download the update.

didn't work for three ASGs ... still having the problem:
Installing rpm package: kernel-default-2.6.16.60-77.i686.rpm Failed!

2x ASG120
1x ASG110

Updating via
/sbin/auisys.plx --rpmargs --force
didn't help either : /

Hi,
I found my solution in the german forum (Up2Date schlägt fehl.).
I logged in as root and entered following command:
auisys.plx --rpmargs --force

This command installed first 7.300 and then 7.301.
No Errors - and everything works [:)]
But take care - it depends from the error you got before.
