DNS not resolving - new ISP

Hello:

I have been piloting the ASG 425a appliance for a few months now and we are ready to put it into production.

However, after we ordered a new line from a different ISP and changed the appropriate IP's and DNS forwarder info on the WAN interface, it can no longer resolve DNS.

I can ping the new gateway and the outside world but just no DNS.

When I connect a notebook to the same drop it can resolve DNS with the new provider just fine.

Am I missing something here?

Oops, forgot to add the Live Log error message:

Did you try to bounce the firewall. Maybe named is hung. You can also try to restart the named service.

I don't think it is that because just this morning I configured my second appliance to use a different IP from the same ISP and it is working perfectly.

So now I know it is my primary appliance but I just don't know what is wrong and I will be damned before I blow away my config again!

I did not say blow away your config. Did you restart Named or did you reboot the appliance. Maybe named is hung

Yesh, I tried that as well with no luck.

Support finally got back to me and poked around in there - he said that the dns daemon wouldn't start for some unknown reason and the germans would have to look at it...

Good thing this is not in production!

Okay, they think it got hooped because there was two identical static dns entries.

Not sure why it stopped working all-of-the-sudden and what switching ISP's had to do with that but it is all-good now.
