Astaro 7.011 fails on Dell r200

hi

we tried to install astaor on a dell r200, whitout success. Becuase astaro just says "installation failed" we don't know why it fails. so it must be disks or cdrom. But the message is not really usefull,  why does astaro hide these errors?!

it is booting and everything works fine until you want to install. so my question is on what is astaro based? cent os 5 works fine, debian 4 works fine, astaro doesn't.

see also http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11859

Any hints?

  • I also experienced some problems in relation to installing a newer version of asg on a normal pc. It worked for me to download an old version (7.003) install it (which worked without any problems) and then update that box.

Maybe this would be a solution for you.
  • Post your hardware exactly, please. HD, RAM, etc. It could be a corrupted HD, try to take a better "newer" [;)] one.
  • Yes, post your exact configuration, number of hard drives and cdroms, etc.  There should only be 1 Hard Drive and 1 CDROM drive connected in the system, other wise you will get failures.
