So far, we've run across at least one issue. We attempted to convert our own firewall, running 6.305, and discovered that after the import all the Internal network definitions (address, broadcast, and network) were all zeros, and there was no way to edit them to correct the problem. Needless to say, the firewall did not work and we reverted to 6.305. A trouble ticket has been turned in to Astaro.
As a side comment, it is disappointing to see that HTTP and SMTP proxy settings do not carry over in the import. This could present a significant problem for sites running mail servers (where the SMTP proxy has been carefully tweaked over months and years), and also for sites that have finely-tuned HTTP proxies with whitelists and blacklists.
Definately looks quite imposing to have to redo almost everything. I think that I'll probably skip the conversion altogether and just redo all the settings manually. I'm in the process of page by page taking notes on all settings/screenprinting.

Seems like a good way to duplicate your setup would be to bring up a VMware image with the same number of NICs, then you can setup the replacement live.
Or if you have a spare machine with the same number of NICs, that would work, too.
Astaro doesn't care what the NICs are as long as the number of NICs are the same? I have a 220 in production, so if I created a VM with 8 NICs, made all the config changes that I needed on the VM, exported the config from the VM and applied it to an upgraded 220, everything would be set without the NIC config blowing up in my face?

Yes, this is correct. We have done this in the past (either using VMWare or using totally different hardware but with the same number of NICs). Setup your virtual or real machine with the same number of NICs, configure Astaro on that machine, create a backup, load the new version on the production hardware and restore the backup.
Thanks Drees for the confirmation. Hopefully Astaro will get the 7.005 VM's posted in the next few days. If not, I can always use the 7.004 VM and update or just start with a blank VM and install from the 7.005 ISO.
Update: Set up a VM with four NICS (max VMWare Server will allow) and tried a few different ways of running the upgrade after taking a snapshot of the bare original 7.005 config. I didn't like some of the ways that the V6>V7 import tool changed things, so reverted back to my snapshot and manually reconfigured everything and saved a backup. Hopefully I'll get the time to do the upgrade in the next week or so.

I agree. And even more important (IMO) are the VPN tunnels. We have customers with 20-60 of these things and converting them across by hand will be very painful. We've started selling version 7 by default now since the interface is certainly nicer, however we have advised our version 6 customers to hold off migrating for the moment.
