changing nic's

okay here's the deal. got a motherboard that I thought was good. It had 2 onboard nics. The mobo was an asus a7n8x-e. with the nforce2 mcp. okay I installed v7, and everything was workin fine. well now the mobo isn't working. so I need to put my old hardware back in. but I already have all my firewall rules, etc setup again. and I don't feel like doing it again. With the old hardware, it boots up fine, but astaro just isn't detecting the nics. One is a linksys, and the other is a belkin. I think. I know they work, because I have used them for over a year, and they were working just fine a couple days ago when I was running v6. I have searched and searched, and just can't get the right string in there to get what I want. All I need to know is how I can change the nics without having to reinstall astaro. thanks!!

    k I will try that. I believe that they both just use the tulip driver?? I remember messing around with that before. because I had this same problem when I replaced the mobo. thats when I decided to just go with v7. thx for the quick reply. I will get back with the results

    okay how would I setup 2 nics with the same module??

    They should "just work", but if they really do both use the tulip module, your files will look like this:

    /etc/modules 
    tulip


    /etc/modules.conf 
    alias eth0 tulip

    alias eth1 tulip


    However, I would expect that if they really did use the same driver that both NICs would come up. The output from your boot.log from the last time you booted would be helpful.
