Problems installing 220... Help please!

Hey All...

I'm experiencing difficulties connecting to the internet during the initial set up process for the Astaro 220.

Here's a connection diagram: DSL modem/line --> eth1 port. eth0 port --> switch --> pc for webadmin

Here's what I've done so far, maybe some steps are missing and maybe some are wrong, but that manual hasn't been able to help me. Your help is appreciated.

I've set up a "Standard Ethernet Interface" on eth1 , entered static IP, entered static netmask, entered static default gateway. everything else is to "OFF" position, MTU @ 1500.

Then, I activate the interface (green light), refreshed and still have NO INTERNET.

What OTHER steps do I need to take to set up basic internet access to my network? I cannot seem to get it going...

The Macromedia Breeze tutorials all stop in the middle of the demo's which also makes it difficult to configure properly.

    The help file is a PDF.

    There are 2 steps missing from your setup.
    1/. create filter rule allowing your "internal network" "any" "any" "allow"
    2/. create a MASQ rule internal network to external interface.

    That will get your basic firewall going until you learn what other security functions you want to enable.

    and just to be on the safe side: sure that u have to use an DSL-MODEM (what means PPPoE) with STATIC ETH IFC connected?
    normally not the way how it works - dsl modem=pppoe interface, router=static eth
    Ian M also agreed - masq & pfr missing; check "initial setup" in the knowledgebase...
