PPoE-ADSL 900 seconds to reconnect...

Dear All,

I've seen that this question was already asked...but I cannot find if there was a solution about it...

the 900 seconds waiting time when the ADSL line goes down and ASG cannot reconnect immediately...can be changed?

15 minutes to re-attempt a connection is too long! Usually the interruption should not last that long... I would like to set this down to 30 seconds or 1 minute maximum...

Any idea?

    just edit the following lines in /var/chroot-pppoe/bin/DSL.sh to the values you want

    # timeouts in seconds
    MINTIME=60
    ACRETRY=900
    PPPOERETRY=900

    Thank you. I have been searching for the same answer for a while.
    Any ideas on what the minimum you could go to eg 5 for eacxh entry without causing the system too much grief. Most networks have automatic re-connect on failure so the down time to users is almost transparent. I realise under a true fault condition the log would fill up very quickly, but that is th eexception rather than the rule.

    Hi Ian,

    I operate with the following settings:

    MINTIME=60
    ACRETRY=10
    PPPOERETRY=60

    It works quite fine for me.
