Memory Creep

This is about a home system ASL v6 with the home user bundle patched to current.

I’ve noticed over the last few months that my memory usage keeps creeping up. From a fresh boot, the system will use 250mgs for about 3 days and then slowly creep up until it starts regularly using the swap space and consuming all 1g of memory. This is a home system. The box isn’t doing very much work, it ran for almost a year without consuming more then 300mgs. 

What does everyone else think? Anybody seen memory issues like this before?

    If you go to Reporting->Advanced and click on "Process List", you should be able to figure out what's using up all the memory on your machine. Copy and paste everything there and post it here. You'll want to look for large VSZ and RSS numbers.

    Thanks for the responses.

    I will give it a couple of days so the memory usage will be more pronounced  then post the results.

    Hyperdyper is the major offender, having claimed that it needs about 3GB of memory. Most of that process is probably swapped out. Looks like it has a memory leak.

    You might want to disable HTTP content filter (surf protection) unless you really need it.
