Is possible to ping a just installed firewall ?

Is it possible to ping a firewall (ASG 5) just after installation ?

(To be sure firewall is correctly (phisycally) plugged)

Or by default ping is disabled ?

Yes, it's possible.
After initial installation ping on firewall itself should be allowed.
Do you have problem to connect via browser ?

Yes, i have. I have just installed V5. I put administration ethernet on [eth 0].
But i cannot connect to it and i cannot ping. what should be the problem ?

Could you please post
- the IP adresse you gave the firewall while installation process
- the ip adress of your system ?

ASG 192.168.2.100 Mask: 255.255.0.0
Admin: 192.168.10.1 Mask: 255.255.0.0

And it didn' t work. I had to set the same family address to both machines.
