Installation Problem

Presuming the media is good (no smudges on the CD, CD reader solid, etc.), it's time to start playing with the BIOS settings and reinstall (APIC, etc.)

Are you using a SATA disk?

I'm not using SATA. What settings should be changed in the BIOS? And with what opptions should I reinstall the system?

APIC relates to the power off settings.

Go through all of the settings and make them "conservative"...

Well, it's all set to normal/conservative....nothing special there at all. Maybe some hardware is broken?

Ok, I now just installed without APIC option and the problem is still there....help [:(]

IDE or SCSI?
What controller?
What motherboard?

Where does this error come from and how can it be fixed?

did you run an md5 sum against your download to make sure it is not corrupted? 
Also what hardware is this being installed on? (which optical drive, hdd, mobo, processor..etc etc)

I have similar problem when I chose to install only open source component when installing astaro 6.103. No problem if I chose to install both open souce and enterprise tools. Any help or idea on how to solve the problem would be fine. Thanks.
