ASL will not assign IP via DHCP

Hi all.

I've recently installed ASL 5.024. The install was almost flawless except for a few "timeouts"...never seen that in V4 during install.

Anyway, now that ASL 5 is installed, it won't assign an IP to my external interface. I've tried several times by rebooting my serverl to turn off/on my cable modem to no avail. I'm now getting frustrated and thus requring any suggestion from anyone... 

Has anyone seen this before and know the solution?

Any suggestion is much appreciated!

    ASL is just as good as it can be. Persistent person I am, well, if I can't get it to work on ASL4(it was doing the same thing...wont' assign IP), why stick with ASL 4 when 5 is already available?

    I've reinstalled ASL 5.027 and after a couple more of hours tinkering around, I've finally able to get my IP!

    Someone had posted, a simillar DHCP issue, which a reply suggested to delete the external interface and readded it. Well, I did that and it seems to have resolved the problem. The reason why I didn't do it in the first place is because of the rules I've already created which is related to it...I didn't want to lose them. But, I've deleted my external interface, rebooted the system, restore my abf file, rebooted again and voila, a success!

    Thanks to the person who made that suggestion...I'm sorry I forgot your name...

    Summary:

    Migration from ASL 4 to ASL 5 is pretty straight-forward...persistense and talking-to-yourself and posting and reading the forum helps! Thanks ASL!
