New to ASL

I'm trying to install ASL v5.024 for the first time. I'm encountering a problem where the installation fails after the initial checksum. What is this checksum verifying? Is this a problem with my hardware or with the files on the CD I'm using?

    definitely the CD, possibly the ISO image was corrupted during download, we post the MD5 sum of the ISO image on our download server, you can verify the MD5 sum of the ISO file you downloaded if they match, there is tools for Windows generating an MD5 sum for a file.
