Up2Date 5.023 - reboot may be required

Just a note that we've found that a reboot *may* be required following application of up2date 5.023.  The production firewall on our own network choked following the installation of this update and, although the WebAdmin interface could be reached, the firewall was rejecting all packets from the internal network.  A reboot immediately fixed the problem.

    Something like this just happened to me...
    After up2date finished, everything was still working for 1-2 mins, and then eMule died.
    Webmin was still working, so I was going to try to reboot, but then webmin quit working too.
    Also tried Pinging ASL and SSH to ASL, all dead.

    Was thinking of hitting reset button (no console attached), but noticed disk was still occasionally blinking, so I gave it a few more mins, and now it's working fine again.

    Nonetheless, it was dead in the water for several minutes, which I'd say is undesirable.

    Just about the same here.  Everything seemed to be working then it died.  Somethings never came back.  I rebooted (via webadmin).  I'm curious to see if astaro slipped an performance fixes in.

    Based on first impressions they did NOT.

    i do generally a restart after every up2date package.

    I had exactly the same.  For about 3 minutes everything died.  This is a worring thing as I did not know the state of our protection while things were offline...

    after updating to 5.023 we have trouble with the http proxy. if someone in our company starts his IE 5 or 6 and trys to connect to a website, that damn IE hangs... i event can`t see his request in the realtime log?!? the squid is running with user authentication. with netscape or firebird everthing is working fine...

    I loaded up 5.023 a little earlier today & found that hyperdyper has a leak or something after the update.  I'm rebooting the firewall after the teachers leave the school because hyperdyper died and notified a total of 6 times between the times of 12pm & 1:30pm requiring the process to be restarted before users could surf.

    Just bought a year of subscriptions with the free home license. During the 30 days trial, everything worked roses. Now I have to manually download the up2date files. That's one thing, but the virus pattern update generates errors. Authentication servers cannot be reached (even though I can ping them). Maybe it has something to do with the following phenomenon: I cannot download files anymore. No matter which browser/client, no matter which site, after 1% or so, the download stops. Proxy 8080 or no proxy, IE or Mozilla, no matter. Weird. Finally, (shouldn't be posted here, but what-the-heck) if I mail sales, they  NEVER reply. Way2Go.

    5.024 just did the same thing... shortly after loading the update, all connectivity (except ping) fails.

    It's been down for 2-3 minutes so far... hopefully it will come back up soon.

    Well, firewall was still dropping all TCP & UDP packets when I got home (pings still worked to and through the fw)...

    Checked the logs; packetfilter showed the packets getting dropped... nothing else interesting in the logs, top, etc...

    Rebooted, seems fine now.
