Hardware

I want to install a Astaro 4.017 or 4.777 on a HP DL140.
The internal Network Cards are not detected in the install process. IS there any way to get this solved ? The internal Card are 2 Broadcom 7771 1 Gbit .

maybe these nics work with the tg3.o module.

try to edit /etc/modules.conf and insert:
alias eth0 tg3
alias eth1 tg3
.
.
.

we are running a new dl320 with (same?) broadcom nics and they are working with these modules:

tg3.c:v2.3 (November 5, 2003)
eth0: Tigon3 [partno(N/A) rev 1002 PHY(5703)] (PCI:33MHz:32-bit) 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet
eth1: Tigon3 [partno(N/A) rev 1002 PHY(5703)] (PCI:33MHz:32-bit) 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet

this has worked with me.

By the way , did you try to install the smp-kernel ?
By installing the smp-kernel no network card was deteced,
even if we put a Intel 100pro inside.

sorry, no experience with smp and asl. the dl 320 from above is running a standard debian.
but with a custom kernel (2.4.25) hyper threading (smp kernel) is working fine.

Finally i solved the problem.

Just do the following at booting from CD .

boot:> smp noapci apci=off

Everything is fine now.
