I realy start hating this firewall plz help

hi plz help 

this is my problem:
I first tried to install 
1 3Com 905B 
2x RTL 8139 
installing astaro everything looks fine ... detected all 3 cards 
BUT when i finished installing Astaro and rebooted the system login in via opera and looked at my Interfaces there was only 1 3COM and 1 unknown [:(].
There was only one setting where i was able to see all 3 nics in the webadmin interface .... BUT on this setting i was not able to activate the 3COM inteface ... so i gave up i looks like there is no way to get this 3 interfaces running in astaro  

now i have a setup running with 1x3COM and 1xRTL8139
but i realy need all 3 nics running plz help

AND with 2 nics after loading a backup i am not longer able to access the webadmin [:(]

PLZ help why am i not able to install 3 NIc so that the can alos be seen in the webadmin ?

PS.: all 3 NIC's are in the compatibility list known as TESTED !

    and now i got pings to the gateway of my ISP for about 90 to 400ms .... nover got pings like this bevor 
    whats up with this firewall ?

    Well first of all, it's not the firewall, it's probably your configuration. First you should re-install and follow the initial setup guide at docs.astaro.org/guidebooks/setup/Initial_Setup.pdf

    Things to check:

    Dont ever have dual gateways, only ONE default gateway is to be specified, the gateway to your provider, any other interfaces have NO gateway, since the astaro does the routing for you.
    Very important that is!

    Watch the allowed networks in webadmin, ensure "any" is set if you want to be able to get to webadmin from anywhere.

    Not sure if opera is fully supported, never used it. I use mozilla firebird and it works great, otherwise of course IE is 100% as well.

    Do me a favor; try just the two RTLs first (if the 3COM is on the motherboard, temporarily disable it in BIOS). My experience has been that Astaro works flawlessly on NIC interpretation when all NICs are the same; but when there is a mix, I have sometimes seen flaky stuff like you're seeing -clearly an area where there's room for improvement. [I think after your post maybe Astaro will be redoubling its efforts in testing permutations of cards, but cut them some slack: permutations of cards run into factorial possibilities!! The proprietary hardware firewall vendors certainly have an easier time of it...]

    If that shows to be solid, then we'll work at bringing the other NIC online manually; if the thought of that is a squeamish one for you, then you should go to Astaro Support for a possible fix; or just get three NICs that are the same. But let's see first what it is...

    1.Why should it be the config that the NIC apear in the install process but not in the webadmin ????
    2.I only have one gateway set up all internal entwerk interfaces (only one at the moment) are set to no gateway an the workstations at the internal net are set to the firewall as gateway
    3. i reinstalled 4 times now and nerver got all 3 nics running

    System is a K6 400 with 256MB RAM should do the trick for 3 worsations an a little server 

    PS.: i realy liked it ... till i tried to install a 3rd NIC [;)]
    PPS.: it always runs fine using 2 nic 3com +RTL or two RTL but inserting e 3rd nic is instering PROBLEMS [;)]

    those anyone have a explanation where this high pings come from ????

    with a older version of astaro ... V3 i think i didnt have any ping problems. (my first try with astaro a few month ago i think)

    from anywhere ... workstation behind astaro ... from the tool and from astaro linux logged in as root

    If you have 2 same NIC maybe be problem. I fix it becuse i have same problem. I set one RTL in thirst pci slot and i have 3com in the second pci slot and in the third i have my other RTL nic. It works for me try and see if it works for you. I cant have 2 same nic after i must have my 3com nic betwin the RTL. I hope you understand my bad english

    He seems to be saying that it's an interrupt configuration issue. When devices share an interrupt (or have conflicting IRQs, for that matter), they can be quite slooow.

    As for using the same cards, that never caused me a problem, but hey: I usually use tried and true Intel models.

    I guess you can try what the man says...
