I realy start hating this firewall plz help

hi plz help 

this is my problem:
I first tried to install 
1 3Com 905B 
2x RTL 8139 
installing astaro everything looks fine ... detected all 3 cards 
BUT when i finished installing Astaro and rebooted the system login in via opera and looked at my Interfaces there was only 1 3COM and 1 unknown [:(].
There was only one setting where i was able to see all 3 nics in the webadmin interface .... BUT on this setting i was not able to activate the 3COM inteface ... so i gave up i looks like there is no way to get this 3 interfaces running in astaro  

now i have a setup running with 1x3COM and 1xRTL8139
but i realy need all 3 nics running plz help

AND with 2 nics after loading a backup i am not longer able to access the webadmin [:(]

PLZ help why am i not able to install 3 NIc so that the can alos be seen in the webadmin ?

PS.: all 3 NIC's are in the compatibility list known as TESTED !

    built RTL 3COM RTL .... no change [:(]

    reinstalled orig. config loaded backup ..and then 

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log. 

    its running ... but no webadmin anymore [:(]

    When you reinstall it have you same card for webadmin like before you change the pci slots for NIC:s ? I try some pci ports on my computer and i have now i functional fw

    On my first pci slot i have this nic 
    Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+
    On my second pci slot i have this nic
    3Com Corporation3c905B 100BaseTX [Cyclone]
    and on my third pci slot i have this nic
    Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+
    and my firewall is up. Hope you can understand me

    Unfortunately the backup will preserve the incorrect interface configuration.
    When you're reinstalling, it is best to build the box up again
    (or edit /etc/wfe/conf/itf.conf using the joe editor).

    P.S. Your code extract with a long line has messed up the format on this board;

    looks like you have nearly the same config 
    only difference is that i am using the 
    3Com Corporation3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado]
    but i dont get all 3 NIC's up 

    nexttime i'll try to set the IRQ manual maybe it'S cause the two RTL are sharing one IRQ

    now i added a simple service definition and than ... nothing FIREWALL is not responding any more ?

    The cause and effect of that do not matchup!

    I know what it is! It's those magnetic storms we're having...

    Back to reality: the NICs aren't stable yet, so it happened to go south when you were working with it. One way to check that out is to hop onto console and do an:

    ifconfig ethwhatever down
    ifconfig eth    whatever up

    ASL works fine for most people so step back and take a deep breath.  3 NICs or more can work just fine.

    Only reasons for it not to work are:
    NIC(s) are bad.
    Motherboard can't handle the cards (old IBM is one with issues).
    Configuration is wrong.

    Sharing IRQs is not a problem, Linux does it all day long.  Is it more about the slot order.

    One idea about loosing contact after a backup restore is that maybe now the internal net is on a different card (can happen with multiple cards with the same driver).

    You didn't say which ISO version you were using.  We don't know about the new 4.016 so if that is it then try the previous version and do Up2Date after getting things working.

    I had the exact same problem. The solution for me, which worked, was that I noticed my motherboard had the APIC setting on. This setting allows the motherboard to automatically assign IRQs. You do NOT want that. 

    Do not be fooled by the IRQ setting the WebAdmin screen gives you. When you boot up your machine, you will notice what IRQs are assigned to those slots, and they are different than the IRQs Astaro reports in WebAdmin. Call this a bug, I don't know. But I know the solution below worked for me.

    Disable APIC in your BIOS, and force different IRQs on your 3 slots. If I were you, I would also disable the serial ports, to free up IRQs 3 and 4.

    Ok, cool the jets a moment.

    I have a 3-nic box, and on install it would recognize all 3, but in web admin, it properly identified only 1 and showed the others as unknown.

    The solution was to remove the cards, and shuffle the physical order of how they are physically installed.  After a couple iterations, all 3 cards are recognized.

    Try it....you might like it.
